Tesla Model 3 and Model Y vehicles experiencing steering lock-ups!
The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has scrutinized the automaker Tesla on several occasions. One recent concern was related to steering issues. NHTSA stated that it has received numerous complaints alleging steering control and hydraulic steering loss problems in Tesla vehicles.
Among the complaints, five individuals claimed that they couldn’t steer the vehicle at all, while the others stated that the power loss caused difficulties in steering control. All of these problems can lead to various adverse consequences, especially while driving in traffic.
These allegations relate to Tesla’s Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. Following the complaints, a driver in Virginia mentioned that issues started to occur just two weeks after receiving their Tesla Performance Model 3 on June 15. The driver stated the following in their statement:
“Today while driving and making a left turn, the steering wheel locked and displayed an error code indicating that the steering assist was disabled. The vehicle’s steering gets locked, but when you get out and get back in the car, the error code disappears.”
After these complaints, inspectors will examine how frequently the problem occurs and the role of production processes in the issue. Additionally, this investigation marks the fifth one initiated by NHTSA concerning Tesla vehicles in the last three years.
